What information Swan Housing Association collects about you

Our websites only collect personal information about you when you interact with any of the forms or email links used on the website. We only collect the personal information that you yourself enter.

How Swan Housing Association uses this information

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie.

Every cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier, the site name and/or some digits and numbers.

It allows a website to remember things like what your preferences  were , and they also use some basic information so we can see what is popular, and how our visitors came to our site. This helps us to try to improve that site and the visitor’s experience.

PHPSESSIDThis cookie is used to hold the unique (but anonymous) session ID that is generated every time our site is visited. This cookie will be deleted when you close the browser. It also helps the website know if you are using a mobile device so it can deliver you the appropriate template (this feature is currently in testing)
wpfilebaseThis particular cookie helps us learn which downloads (Newsletters, leaflets, etc.,) are popular.
Google CookiesThese cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our websites We only use the information to compile reports and to help us improve our websites and the information we provide.

DYNSRVServer session cookie; this cookie is added by our web hostings load balancer to track which web server to send the visitor to. It’s purpose is to improve the performance of the website.

I don’t want to receive cookies

If you don’t want to receive cookies, you can modify your browser so that it notifies you when cookies are sent to it or you can refuse cookies altogether. You can also delete cookies that have already been set.

Historical Content

Whilst we try to keep out content up to date and correct, it should be noted that our websites also contain historical items, such as old news stories and pages; that whilst correct at the time of publishing, may contain information that is no longer correct or  relevant. These items are kept on the site in ways of archives and historical interest.

Swan Housing Group cannot guarantee that the information contained on these websites is 100% accurate or correct.  (see also Limited Liability Below).

The images we use on our websites are either taken from images taken by Swan staff, such as during an event, from our stock of internally created images, or taken from royalty free clip-art providers.

Images on historical articles and pagers. may contain residents, or members of staff; that are no longer involved with Swan. It should be noted that these items are only retained on our websites as a matter of historical interest and considered relevant to the article  in which they are contained.

Anyone wishing to have an image: of themselves or close family member, removed from an item featured on our website: they may do so by contacting us via [email protected] with the relevant details.

Limited Liability

  1. The information contained on our websites is for information purposes only, and any advice indicated should be checked through alternate sources along with your personal judgement before acting on  any information provided on the basis of what the item contains.. We (Swan Housing Group) can give no warranties of any kind in relation to our sites or their contents.

  4. These websites rely on Open Source Software (WordPress) and plugins (small software applications) to work including those developed by external providers and sources.
    We use these as they represent (in our opinion) the best Value for Money,  in accordance with our Mission & Goals as a Non-Profit Organisation.
    Whilst we do monitor, and maintain these sites and try to repair bugs, errors: we cannot guarantee that these websites or any individual feature will be error free, available all the time and/or free from viruses. As such, Swan Housing Group cannot be held responsible for any resulting technical issues you may encounter as a result of using any of our websites. It is the responsibility of any users of our websites to ensure that they take any precautions or protection for their own equipment and software.

It should also be noted that the WordPress Software we rely on for the running of these websites; utilises a database to serve the content and information it contains, and whilst we monitor and backup this database on a regular basis; errors and can occur and it is possible for that information to become corrupt, or revert to an earlier revision of that content.
