Swan asks Social Life to carry out research on Craylands

Swan has commissioned Social Life to carry out some research on Craylands in order to better understand needs, issues and aspirations of residents living there.

The research will help Swan identify the types of community activities and services needed and wanted by residents on the estate. Social Life, which is a small social enterprise staffed with experienced researchers, will be conducting interviews and focus groups with residents as well as representatives of local community groups and service providers.

The research will start in mid-July.

Forest Gate office closed for refurbishment

The Forest Gate PFI Office is now closed for refurbishment and is due to re-open on Monday 7 August 2017. During this period staff have been relocated to our other offices in Blackwall Reach and Stratford.

During the refurbishment, we will be running local drop-in sessions and will minimise the inconvenience to our residents as much as possible.

The telephone number remains the same and you will still be able to contact the Staff on their usual numbers.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding whilst we carry out the work.

Beechwood and Craylands Information Day

Swan now has planning approval to complete the remaining phases of our regeneration of Craylands. However, we still need the local community’s input on the key elements of the project, including the community hub and green spaces. We are therefore holding an information day on Saturday 28 January 2017 from 11am until 2pm at the Beech Community Centre. Please come along and give us your views. More information about the event can be found on the poster.Beechwood Information Day

Beechwood Tree Planting!

On Saturday, Swan Housing Association, Landscape Architect (Outer Space), Neuk and local residents took part in a tree planting event on the Beechwood / Craylands estate.

The Woodland Trust donated over 100 trees to Swan Housing to improve our local environment and make our neighbourhood a greener place to live. Residents, young people, parents, Swan staff and other partners, met at the open space around the man-made natural drainage system (Swale Area), where residents were briefed on the programme of the day and health and safety.

Residents turned out in large numbers to help plant the copse around the edge of the Swale area and in other parts of the estate. This event gave local residents the opportunity to meet Swan team and socialise with other people from their community. Free refreshments were supplied by Swan.

We would like to thank all residents and young people that gave up their time to participate in this special event.Beechwood Tree Planting
